Chelsea MOPS is an organization of women with young children – from birth through kindergarten – in the Chelsea, Michigan area. Members are not only from Chelsea, but also from Dexter, Manchester, Grass Lake, Waterloo, Stockbridge, and more. We all share one desire – to be great moms!

What is MOPS?
MOPS, which stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, is an international interdenominational Christian organization that exists to encourage, equip, and help women with young children – from birth through kindergarten – to become the best moms they can be. MOPS exists for every mom – urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms – moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!
2011-2012 MOPS Theme
MOPS International’s theme for 2011-2012 is: MomSense: Bold, Loving, Sensible. We want to encourage moms to embrace their mothering instincts and develop their own parenting style while navigating through the myriad of daily mom decisions.
- How do I decide what to do when I don’t really know what to do?
- Should I trust my intuition?
- With so much available information, how do I discern what’s best?
- What are the most important family values?
The spiritual foundation of the theme is 2 Timothy 1:7: “God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold, loving, and sensible.” Developing a mothering strategy is somewhat like playing a game. Playing games involves being bold and taking risks, loving those in the game with us, and being sensible while figuring out what works and what doesn’t. And, as playing games is a lot of fun, being a mom should be a lot of fun too!
